After working on a total of 390 productions over the last 30 years the love of collaboration, the ongoing creative challenges and constructing costumes that help actors step into the magical world of their characters is what keeps designing for the Theatre exciting and fresh. Shelley has designed costumes for 50 Macon State/MGSU Impromptu Player’s productions, worked as a costume assistant on several movies, and designed and constructed costumes for the 2009 production of Missouri Waltz, written by Karen Black, at the Cox Capital Theater. Last season she designed costumes for August Osage County, The Gondoliers, and She Kills Monsters. Properties are those things performers carry on or off the stage: a newspaper, a briefcase, a gun, a wallet, a purse, etc. She has been employed as costume designer for Mercer Theatre and Mercer Opera since 1996 where she has collaborated on 113 productions. She was the head designer and costume shop supervisor for last Summer’s Theatre Festival which included 42nd Street, Ain’t Misbehavin, and The Complete Works of William Shakespeare Abridged. Most recently you have seen her costumes in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Auntie Mame, The Drowsy Chaperone, The Constant Wife, and The Wiz. 'WRLT is a non-profit community theatre that has provided live theatrical productions for 60 years. Since then she has been involved as costume designer, actor or both, in 223 Productions. Shelley’s first production at Theatre Macon was The Diary of Anne Frank in 1988. In his career, Richard has worked on more than 100 productions spanning many disciplines within the theatre and is looking forward to working on another 100 with Theatre Macon. ![]() Richard has also served on the Board of Directors for the Educational Theatre Association a non-profit organization which celebrates, advocates, and promotes middle and high school theatre education nationwide. In June 1962, twenty-five citizens founded Warner Robins Little Theatre, the first community theatre in Warner Robins. Warner Robins Little Theatre is getting ready for their seasons first production. After graduation, he was hired at Northside High School in Warner Robins, Georgia, where he served as the Theatre and Dance teacher for 7 years. Richard is a graduate of Columbus State University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Theatre Education. Since then, he has gone on to choreograph and direct a number of Theatre Macon hits to include Les Misérables, 42nd Street, and Beauty and the Beast before being hired as Artistic Director in August 2018. Richard began his journey with Theatre Macon in 2011 as the choreographer for The Rocky Horror Show.
